  3. It's wise to remember how easily email -- this wonderful
  4. technology -- can be misused, sometimes unintentionally, with
  5. serious consequences.
  6.  
  7. Consider the case of the Illinois man who left the snow-
  8. filled streets of Chicago for a vacation in Florida. His wife
  9. was on a business trip and was planning to meet him there the
  10. next day. When he reached his hotel, he decided to send his
  11. wife a quick email.
  12.  
  13. Unfortunately, when typing her address, he missed one letter,
  14. and his note was directed instead to an elderly preacher's
  15. wife whose husband had passed away only the day before. When
  16. the grieving widow checked her email, she took one look at
  17. the monitor, let out a piercing scream, and fell to the floor
  18. in a dead faint.

  20. At the sound, her family rushed into the room and saw this
  21. note on the screen:

  23. Dearest Wife,
  24. Just got checked in. Everything prepared for your arrival
  25. tomorrow.
